As some of you may know, a couple of months ago my main gaming rig decided to give up the ghost as the result of a power outage/spike we had. Since then, I've been playing few PC games because the $250 walmart jobby that I bought (so that I could continue doing my day job) wasn't really up to the task. No play: no reviews. Well, that's all about to change.

Last night I ordered Alienware.

Sure, they're expensive as hell, and I never thought I would drop the cash for brand-name gaming rig. But then I experienced what it means to get Alienware second hand. My mother of all people bought one and it arrived last night. Seeing as how it's a 70lb monster, I had to help her set it up, and in payment she let me play some Bioshock for a little while.

Ten minutes later, I was ordering one for myself.

Everything about the machine and its packaging says "we know what you want and we know what we're doing and this isn't a crappy little beige box". If all computers were put together as well as Alienware computers, then Mac people would have little to say because the vast majority of PC problems are due to crappy computers, and most computers are crappy.

It should be arriving near the end of next week and PC game reviews will commence shortly thereafter.
